Looking Back ......

Episode 1

I was born a poor white boy at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska.

This was way back when Alaska was still just a territory and the launching of Sputnik 1 was less than 6 months away. Had to make you work to figure out how old I was.

Dad was a Military Policeman with the Army and mom had to stay home and change and wash my shitty diapers.

Dad says they drove back to North Carolina when I was about 4 months old. He said most of the roads weren't paved back then and he had to wrap the gas tank in old inner tubes to keep rocks from flying up and puncturing the tank.

Now I know why I'm so crazy. My little brain was bounced around all those rocky roads for over 4,600 miles. We're talking a good 70 hours of actual driving time on today's super highways. Don't know how long it took back then?

I'm still trying to picture mom stowing all those shitty diapers, and trying to keep my little ass clean during the trip. They didn't have "Pampers" or "Johnson Baby Wipes" back in those days. Those stinking ass diapers had to be stored somewhere in that old 52 Ford. Hell...they probably strapped my little stinky ass to the hood, just to get some relief!

Dad got out of the Army and had several jobs; Insurance man, Repo Man, Auto mechanic etc. We moved around quite a bit but always managed to stay in North Carolina. Moms didn't have to work back in those days because of all the shitty diapers!

Stay tuned for future episodes of "Looking Back"

Tongue Twisters

I am not the pheasant plucker,
I'm the pheasant plucker's mate.
I am only plucking pheasants
'cause the pheasant plucker's late.

A flea and a fly flew up in a flue.
Said the flea, "Let us fly!"
Said the fly, "Let us flee!"
So they flew through a flaw in the flue.

One smart fellow, he felt smart.
Two smart fellows, they felt smart.
Three smart fellows, they all felt smart.

"Mandatory DNA Sampling for Americans ARRESTED"

I got into some trouble with the Feds a few years back, selling Body Armor on Ebay. I had to report to one of their offices here in Wilmington NC to give them a DNA sample today. This really scares the shit out of me. What in the hell is our world comming to?

"While some advocates of forced DNA databasing argue it is no more intrusive than taking a fingerprint, DNA is far more than a mere reflection of a physical characteristic. Your DNA not only identifies you physically; it also could tell whoever possesses it a great deal about your biological makeup, health, propensity for certain diseases, aspects of your ancestry and more."- Former U.S. attorney and congressman Bob Barr

Been surfing the net to find info on it and there is so much info out there that I can't make up my mind what to post.

Here's Bob Barr's comments! On ParaPolitics

Comments welcome!.......you're friendly neighborhood ex-body armor dealer

PS...Here's a good article on "Operation High Bidder" which was a sting operation I got sucked into on Ebay. I guess Mr Rose decided to fight it. I didn't because I wanted it to just be over with and I would probably be just like him......still fighting it and deeper in debt! Check out the video in the side bar of the link for "Operation High Bidder". I can't figure out how to link it directly here yet. It really brings back memories for me!

I haven't been able to get this song out of my head for the last couple of days. So, I figured I would post the lyrics so I can revisit them.

The Sound of Silence

Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone,
'Neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence.

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening,
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dare
Disturb the sound of silence.

"Fools" said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you,
Take my arms that I might reach you."
But my words like silent raindrops fell,
And echoed
In the wells of silence

And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made.
And the sign flashed out its warning,
In the words that it was forming.
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets
are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls."
And whisper'd in the sounds of silence.

I have to put this quote in here to humble me as a westerner.

"The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact, non-Westerners never do." -Samuel P. Huntington , political scientist ,and author of "The Clash of Civilizations"

I must also put this article in here by Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf written in 2002. May we both be humbled!

Wow....had to check him out on Wikipedia after that. Very interesting man, do most Pakastanis stand behind him?
Muslim-Americans defend free speech, despite blasphemous' cartoons

Imam Mohamed Magid, executive director of the All Dulles Area Muslim Society in Northern Virginia, said while he understood Islamic offense at the cartoons, Muslims would be better off protesting defamations against the faith perpetrated by their co-religionists.

"Prophet Muhammad is offended every day when somebody blows themselves up in a marketplace in Iraq. He's offended whenever somebody is beheaded. Prophet Muhammad would have opposed the burning of these embassies, or calls to kill Danes or other people," Magid said. "You can't be untouchable and then call other people infidel."

This is good to "Imam rejects Muslim rioting". I'll edit and post more as I find them.

Still another slant from the Kurdish Media?

I hope my Muslim friends agree?

Also would like comments on "A’isha: Mohammed’s Nine-Year Old Wife"

Has anyone heard of Muhammad having a 70 year old Jewish woman, named Om Kerfa, slaughtered by putting her between 4 camels and forcing the camels to walk in opposite directions? I can't find anything on the Internet on this subject. Hopefully just a bad rumor?

The Gist of the Jihad

OK.... The Dastardly Danish and the Manic Muslims have incited me to post some Enlightening Religious Quotes

With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
-Steven Weinberg, winner of the 1979 Nobel Prize in physics

When I was a kid I used to pray every night for a new bicycle. Then I realized that the Lord doesn’t work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me.
-Emo Philips, stand-up comedian

When did I realize I was God? Well, I was praying and I suddenly realized I was talking to myself.
-Peter O’Toole

I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: “O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.” And God granted it.
-Voltaire

Man is a Religious Animal. He is the only Religious Animal. He is the only animal that has the True Religion—several of them. He is the only animal that loves his neighbor as himself and cuts his throat if his theology isn’t straight.
-Mark Twain

I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.
-Galileo Galilei

Which is it: Is man one of God’s blunders or is God one of man’s?
-Friedrich Nietzsche

If you have two religions in your land, the two will cut each other’s throats; but if you have thirty religions, they will dwell in peace.
-Voltaire

We have fossils... We win!
-Lewis Black, on creationism

Almost everyone who has read history in a more than casual manner knows that when the great figure of God appears in a controversy, the shooting cannot be far off.
-Stewart H. Holbrook

It is not so much what you believe in that matters, as the way in which you believe it and proceed to translate that belief into action.
-Lin Yutang

If God created us in his own image, we have more than reciprocated.
-Voltaire

We must respect the other fellow’s religion, but only in the sense and to the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children smart.
-H.L. Mencken

I sometimes think that God in creating man somewhat overestimated his ability.
-Oscar Wilde

Heresy is only another word for freedom of thought.
-Graham Greene

When I do good, I feel good; when I do bad, I feel bad, and that is my religion.
-Abraham Lincoln

Scientists were rated as great heretics by the church, but they were truly religious men because of their faith in the orderliness of the universe.
-Albert Einstein

If it were proven that there is no God there would be no religion. ...But also if it were proven that there is a God, there would be no religion.
-Ursula K. Le Guin

Maybe this world is another planet’s hell.
-Aldous Huxley

Hope you enjoyed and it made you think!

But before I go.......I need to add my religious quote.

The Arabic greeting used by Muslims is Assalamu alaikum "Peace be upon you."

But, I think it means "May you be in Pieces" when used by terrorist! Jimmyhad and his inner struggles

Hello World

I'm sick as hell. Coughing to the point of almost vomiting, and nose bleeds. I was so proud for not being sick in a long time, but the flu/cold bug has finally done me in!

I just want to share what prompted me to start this blog.

It actually began with the Internet surfing for information on the Muhammad Drawings by the Danish Newspaper (Jyllands-Posten). I came across a very interesting blog called "The Shadow of the Olive Tree". It was loaded with information on the drawings and had created quite a stir with the readers. It had many, many comments from all over the world.

Well......me.....being the Good ole American Redneck that I am, decided to put my short but comic jabs into the Muslim dilemma. I don't have the intellect to hang with most of the writers on that subject.

There were very good arguments for both sides, but I liked a fellow's by the name of Mark the best. He basically said "If you can't laugh at yourself.......you will become the laughing stock of everyone". I say a big hell yea to that....I'm my own laughing stock sometimes. We all do stupid stuff, and we always will. We just have to get over it.

I came across another comment of interest which I later found out was by a young lady from Karachi Pakistan.I studied her writings before I looked at her profile and was shocked to find such wisdom ,along with some innocence coming from a 20 year old child. I wanted to post a comment on her blog, but soon found out I had to become a member before this would happen.

So.....that is how this blog "Uncivil" got started.

My friends know how I got the name "Uncivil". But I will share it with you anyway. My ex got a personalized license plate for her car that read "Imcivil" because she is a Civil Engineer and she has an outgoing personality to match the civil part of one's personality.

So naturally I had to have one that read "Uncivil" to be the opposite of her and match my sometimes uncivil personality. But I'm an old softy at heart. So don't take it the wrong way.
I'll be back.........Jimmyhad

PS..........Just a spoof on Jimmy's inner struggles! LOL!

A POWER GREATER THAN MYSELF

"I had always believed in a Power greater than myself. I had often pondered these things. I am not an atheist. Few people really are, for that means blind faith in the strange proposition that this universe originated in a cipher and ainlessly rushes nowhere. My intellectual heroes, the chemists, the astonomers, even the evolutionists, suggested vast laws and forces at work. Despite contrary indications, I had little doubt that a mighty purpose and rhythm underlay it all. How could there be so much of precise and immutable law, and no intelligence? I simply had to believe in a Spirit of the Universe, who knew neither time nor limitation. But that was as far as I could go.

With ministers, and the world's religions, I parted right there. When they talked of a God personal to me, who was love, superhuman strength and direction, I became irritated and my mind snapped shut against such a theory.

To Christ I conceded the certainty of a great man, not too closely followed by those who claimed Him. His moral teaching -- most excellent. For myself, I had adopted those parts which seemed convenient and not too difficult; the rest I disregarded.

The wars which had been fought, the burnings and chicanery that religious dispute facilitated, made me sick. I honestly doubted whether, on balancer, the religions of mankind had done any good. Judging from what I had seen in Europe and since, the power of God in human affairs was negligible, the Brotherhood of Man a grim jest. If there was a Devil, he seemed the Boss Universal, and he certainly had me."
