Time Travel

My dads gas station 1971 or 72. You should be able to click on the pics to enlarge them. Notice we now pay more in taxes per gallon than gas actually cost back then?

Mini Me.......... Granny feeding Uncivil late 50's

Grandaddy Uncivil was a drug dealer. That's his store beside the barber shop (early 40's).

What a little cutie you were.

It amazes me that people get angry about the amount that oil companies make from gasoline and not at the government that takes and does nothing to produce the oil.

The US Government is worse than the Mafia?????

What they aren't the Mafia!!!!!

I know you are just joking. They really are the Mafia, well at least the government we got now. And you know that Capone is down there in hell running things up here in our government, along with Lenin, Hitler, and Mao, I always look down to those guys for my inspiration.

They are doing such a good job that Satan might let them into pergatory if they keep changing things here in America, and if they totally wipe out our Constitution then they are going to have their own private fake heaven, uh I mean hell, to live for eternity.

I mean you just gotta love all those blankity blanks running things now.

Are you sure that picture is from '71 or '72? I mean I was driving back then and I swear I was only paying 19 cents per gallon of gas. Maybe at that time it was cheaper in California because we had about a fourth of the population we have now. Plus all of our refineries that are now closed down, were all up and running at that time. Heck I remember we had to beg the gas station attendent to let us pump our own gas. At that time we thought it was fun. Now I hate to do it. But at the same time thankful that I still have a car to put it into. If things keep going like they are at the moment, my car might become my home. Although we do own a tent. We all need one here for when the "Big One" shakes, rattles, and rolls.

And you were a cute baby.

God bless.

Hi Uncivil,

I was just wondering if you could activate your e-mail on your profile for a day or two and then let me know. I have some things to send to you that you might like. Or you can get my e-mail address from VE or you can have him send yours to me.

If you don't want to do this just let me know. I am a big girl and can handle it. But I think you will like what I want to send.

So please let me know either way. Just leave a comment. And I am thinking of taking my Mrsupole's Place off of it's break. I figure if I don't do it soon then I may never start back up again.

God bless.

Yes I'm sure it was 71 or 72. Here's a quote I googled?

"Let's pick another year we associate with low gasoline prices – 1972, the year before the Arab oil embargo. Gasoline was selling at 36 cents per gallon."

I found that tidbit here: http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=6440

I just activated my email addy, and will be waiting with bells on for your email.

Did you notice I was holding the spoon left handed???? But I grew up right handed???
Hell, I can eat with both hands....it don't matter!
now I need a shovel instead of a spoon!
You see that sink behind us? I took many a bath in that sink. It was the only running water in my grandparents house. They didn't even have an indoor bathroom back then.
They had a double seater outhouse out back by the chicken pen, and you could wash outside in a galvanized tub during warm weather. I even remember a rain barrel that was put on a platform to use as a shower when I got older!

Hi Uncivil,

Thanks I got the address now. I would say to turn it off again ASAP. I have tried to turn mine on before and then it just shows it on my post and then those nasty spammers get it. Then for months and months I have to put up with tons of spam. I will send you some things I think you might like. And I hope you will forward them on to others. Also please feel free to send any to me. I do like jokes too. Plus let me know what you think of the ones I send. I like to know which ones are effective and which ones are not.

God bless.

all children have bobble head qualities. don't sweat it! ha!

old family photos are such a treasure. have you ever noticed that when people's homes burn down, the first thing they say they lost was family pictures? posting them is a good way to save and share.

Yeah, we lost a bunch of old family photos from a fire back in the 70's.
Had all my baby pictures from Alaska destroyed in a fire caused by lightening hitting my grandfather's pack house.
Don't understand why my parents stored them in a barn?????
At least grandad's favorite mule and grandma's cow made it out alive.
